CHAIR KAWASAKI announced the consideration of HOUSE BILL NO. 17                                                                 
"An Act relating to retirement benefits and military service."

REPRESENTATIVE   GEORGE  RAUSCHER,   District  29,  Alaska   State                                                              
Legislature,  Juneau, Alaska,  as sponsor  he gave  a recap  of HB
17.  He stated  that  HB 17  lets  100 percent  disabled  veterans                                                              
retire up  to five  years early.  It costs  the state nothing  and                                                              
gives vets needed flexibility as their disabilities progress.
