There being no further objection, CSHB 217(CRA) was adopted. Amendment No. 1 was offered by Representative Ruffridge: Page 1, line 1, following "Act" (title amendment): Insert "relating to commercial motor vehicle licensing examinations;" 2026-04-29 House Journal Page 2336 Page 1, following line 2: Insert a new bill section to read: "* Section 1. AS 28.33.100 is amended by adding a new subsection to read: (j) If an applicant does not successfully complete any portion of a driving test required under this section, the department may only require the applicant to retake the failed or incomplete portions of the test." Page 1, line 3: Delete "Section 1" Insert "Sec. 2" Renumber the following bill section accordingly. Representative Ruffridge moved and asked unanimous consent that Amendment No. 1 be adopted. Representative Stapp objected. Representative Stapp placed a call of the House until adjournment. The call was satisfied. Representative Stapp withdrew the objection. There being no further objection, Amendment No. 1 was adopted, and the new title follows: CS FOR HOUSE BILL NO. 217(CRA) am "An Act relating to commercial motor vehicle licensing examinations; regulating autonomous vehicles; and providing for an effective date." Representative Kopp moved and asked unanimous consent that CSHB 217(CRA) am be considered engrossed, advanced to third reading, and placed on final passage. There was objection. CSHB 217(CRA) am will advance to third reading on the April 30 calendar.
