The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, Senator Bishop. Senator Hoffman moved and asked unanimous consent the prayer be spread. Without objection, it was so ordered. Certification Senator Hughes moved and asked unanimous consent the journals for the twenty-eighth and twenty-ninth legislative days be approved as certified by the Secretary. SJR 8 The Education Committee considered SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 8 Urging the Alaska delegation in Congress, the United States Department of the Interior, and the Governor to facilitate the completion of a land grant endowment to the University of Alaska. The following fiscal information was published today: Fiscal Note No. 1, zero, Senate Education Committee The bill was referred to the Resources Committee. At Ease State of the Judiciary Address in the Senate The Senate stood at ease to hear the State of the Judiciary Address by the Honorable Joel H. Bolger, Chief Justice of the Alaska Supreme Court. 2021-02-17 Senate Journal Page 0253 President Micciche appointed Senator Stevens and Senator Gray- Jackson to escort Chief Justice Joel H. Bolger to the Senate Chamber. The Senate Sergeant-at-Arms, Romorenzo Marasigan, announced Chief Justice Bolger's entrance to the Senate Chamber. Chief Justice Bolger was escorted to the rostrum and welcomed by President Micciche. The Honorable Joel H. Bolger delivered his address. This address appears in Senate Journal Supplement No. 2. Following his address, the Chief Justice received a standing ovation and was escorted from the chamber by Senator Stevens and Senator Gray-Jackson. Announcements Announcements are at the end of the journal. Adjournment Senator Hughes moved and asked unanimous consent the Senate stand in adjournment until 10:30 a.m., February 19, 2021.
