The Finance Committee considered HOUSE BILL NO. 100 "An Act                                                                     
relating to allocations of funding for the Alaska Workforce Investment                                                          
Board; and providing for an effective date" and recommended the                                                                 
adoption of a Senate Finance Committee Letter of Intent:

It is the intent of the Thirty-Second Alaska State Legislature that the                                                         
Department of Education and Early Development, the Department of                                                                
Labor and Workforce Development, and the University of Alaska                                                                   
cooperate with a special audit of the Technical Vocational Education                                                            
Program (TVEP), conducted under AS 24.20.281, if approved by the                                                                
Legislative Budget and Audit Committee, and to begin within two                                                                 
years after the effective date of HB 100.                                                                                       
                                                                                                                                
A three-year TVEP extension gives sufficient time for the legislative                                                           
auditor to complete a special audit and present their findings to the                                                           
legislature prior to the next sunset date of June 30, 2024.
