AS 14.03.080(a) is amended to read: (a) A child of school age is entitled to attend public school in person without payment of tuition during the school term in the school district in which the child is a resident subject to the provisions of AS 14.14.110 and 14.14.120. * Sec. 18. AS 14.03.080 is amended by adding a new subsection to read: (g) Notwithstanding (a) of this section, a public school may suspend regular in-person school sessions during a declaration of disaster emergency issued under AS 26.23.020(c) if the governor issues an order or proclamation declaring that in-person education would cause harm to students." Renumber the following bill sections accordingly. Page 15, line 2: Delete "Except as provided in (b) of this section, this Act is" Insert "Sections 2(b) - (d), 3 - 10, 12 - 16, and 19 - 22 of this Act are" Senator Costello moved for the adoption of Amendment No. 18.
