The following was again before the House in third reading: SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 16 Encouraging the federal government to end the federal subsidy of ethanol, and requesting the Congress of the United States to mandate that land currently used to grow corn for the production of ethanol be returned to its natural state. The question to be reconsidered: "Shall SJR 16 pass the House?" The roll was taken with the following result: SJR 16--RECONSIDERATION Third Reading Final Passage YEAS: 25 NAYS: 11 EXCUSED: 4 ABSENT: 0 Yeas: Anderson, Chenault, Coghill, Dahlstrom, Fate, Foster, Gatto, Harris, Hawker, Heinze, Holm, Kohring, Kott, Lynn, Masek, McGuire, Meyer, Morgan, Ogg, Rokeberg, Samuels, Weyhrauch, Williams, Wilson, Wolf 2003-05-18 House Journal Page 1898 Nays: Berkowitz, Cissna, Crawford, Gara, Gruenberg, Guttenberg, Kerttula, Kookesh, Seaton, Stoltze, Whitaker Excused: Croft, Joule, Kapsner, Moses And so, SJR 16 passed the House on reconsideration, was signed by the Speaker and Chief Clerk and returned to the Senate.
