2001-05-05 Senate Journal Page 1551 HB 177 Senator Therriault requested that the reconsideration on SENATE CS FOR CS FOR HOUSE BILL NO. 177(RLS) "An Act regulating nongroup entities and certain tax-exempt organizations under Alaska's election campaign finance statutes; and requiring disclosure of the true source of campaign contributions" be taken up. The bill was before the Senate on reconsideration. 2001-05-05 Senate Journal Page 1552 Senator Therriault moved that the bill be returned to second reading for the purpose of a specific amendment, that being Amendment No. 1. Without objection, the bill was returned to second reading. Senator Therriault offered Amendment No. 1 : Page 3, line 17, following "and": Insert ", except as provided for certain independent expenditures in AS 15.13.135(a)," Page 8, line 2, following "subsection": Insert ", except as provided for certain independent expenditures by nongroup entities in AS 15.13.135(a)" Page 8, line 17, following "office": Insert ", except an independent expenditure made by a nongroup entity with an annual operating budget of $5,000 or less," Senator Therriault moved for the adoption of Amendment No. 1. Senator Ellis objected. Senator Elton moved and asked unanimous consent for the adoption of the following amendment to Amendment No. 1: In Amendment No. 1: change "$5,000" to "$250" Without objection, Amendment No. 1 was amended.
