IX, sec. 17(c), Constitution of the State of Alaska; and providing for an effective date be taken up. CS FOR SENATE BILL NO. 83(FIN) am was before the Senate on reconsideration. 1997-04-07 Senate Journal Page 1027 SB 83 Senator Parnell moved that the bill be returned to second reading for the purpose of a specific amendment, that being Amendment No. 16. Without objection, the bill was returned to second reading. Senator Parnell offered Amendment No. 16 : Page 7, line 5: Delete "GRANT." Insert "GRANTS. (a)" Page 7, following line 7: Insert a new bill subsection to read: "(b) The sum of $120,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the Department of Administration for payment as a grant under AS37.05.315 to the City and Borough of Juneau for emergency repairs to Perseverance Trail. This appropriation is conditioned on the signing of a letter of agreement between the state and the City and Borough of Juneau that the state will transfer ownership of the right-of-way for the Perseverance Trail, which includes Mt. Juneau Trail and Granite Creek Trail, to the City and Borough of Juneau, by April 1, 1998, and that the City and Borough of Juneau and the Department of Natural Resources, division of parks and outdoor recreation, will continue discussions concerning transfer of ownership of the rights-of-way for the Mt. Roberts Trail and the Sheep Creek Trail." Adjust funding information accordingly. Senator Parnell moved for the adoption of Amendment No. 16.
