There being no further objections, CS FOR SENATE BILL NO. 231(FIN) An Act making and amending capital, supplemental, and other appropriations; making appropriations to capitalize funds; making appropriations under art. IX, sec. 17(c), Constitution of the State of Alaska, from the constitutional budget reserve fund; and providing for an effective date was adopted and read the second time. Senators Taylor, Halford offered Amendment No. 1 : Page 15, following line 24: Insert a new bill section to read: "* Sec. 38. ALASKA PERMANENT FUND. An amount equal to the balance of the earnings reserve account (AS37.13.145) on June 30, 1998, less $575,000,000, less the amount calculated under AS37.13.145(c) to offset the effect of inflation on the principal of the permanent fund during fiscal year 1998, and less the amount authorized under AS37.13.145(b) for transfer to the dividend fund (AS43.23.045(a)) for the payment of 1998 permanent fund dividends, is appropriated from the earnings reserve account to the principal of the Alaska permanent fund." Renumber the following bill sections accordingly.
