HB 118                                                                       
HOUSE BILL NO. 118                                                            
An Act relating to seafood marketing, to the definition of                    
`seafood' for purposes of the Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute,              
and to an aquatic farm product marketing tax; and providing for                
an effective date.                                                             
                                                                               
HB 118 is in the Labor & Commerce Committee.                                   
                                                                               
HB 469                                                                       
Representative Toohey moved and asked unanimous consent that the               
referral to the Health, Education & Social Services Committee be               
waived for the following:                                                      
                                                                               
HOUSE BILL NO. 469                                                            
An Act relating to the University of Alaska and to assets of the              
University of Alaska; authorizing the University of Alaska to                  
select additional state public domain land, designating that land as           
`university trust land,' and describing the principles applicable to           
the land's management; and defining the net income from the                    
University of Alaska's endowment trust fund as `university                     
receipts' subject to prior legislative appropriation.                          
                                                                               
Representative Navarre objected and withdrew the objection.  There             
being no further objection, the Speaker waived the Health, Education           
& Social Services referral for HB 469.                                         
                                                                               
HB 469 was removed from the Health, Education & Social Services                
Committee and referred to the Resources Committee.

An Act relating to accounting for charitable gaming proceeds;                 
providing that a political use is not an authorized use of charitable          
gaming proceeds; prohibiting the contribution of charitable gaming             
proceeds to candidates for certain public offices, their campaign              
organizations, or to political groups; providing that a political              
group is not a qualified organization for purposes of charitable               
gaming; and providing for an effective date.
