Hear our prayer, O Lord, for the gathering of this                            
Senate.  Grant unto us the wisdom to create that                               
which is essential for the common good.  Let us not                            
waste time in pettiness or in fruitless deliberations.                         
Help us to heal thoughts and feelings that divide us                           
and fracture this state.  Endow us with a vision of                            
the future that will bless our neighbors and proclaim
