Message of May 5 was read, stating the House passed and returned:              
                                                                               
	SENATE BILL NO. 293                                                           
"An Act relating to the authority of the                                      
commissioner of natural resources to reconvey, or                              
relinquish an interest in, land to the United States if                        
that land or interest being reconveyed or                                      
relinquished is identified in an amended application                           
for a land allotment under federal law."                                       
                                                                               
SENATE BILL NO. 293 was referred to the Secretary for                          
enrollment.                                                                    
Message dated May 5 was read stating:                                          
                                                                               
The House respectfully requests the Senate to meet in Joint Session            
in the House Chamber on May 9, 1994 at 2:00 p.m. for the purposes              
of addressing confirmation of the Governor's appointees.                       
                                                                               
Senator Taylor moved and asked unanimous consent that the Senate               
accept the House invitation to meet in Joint Session.  Without                 
objection, it was so ordered.                                                  
                                                                               
The Secretary was requested to notify the House.                               
                                                                               
HCR 36                                                                       
HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 36 am Suspending                               
Uniform Rules 24(c), 35, 41(b), and 42(e) of the Alaska State                  
Legislature concerning Senate Bill No. 247, relating to state leases           
and to state lease-purchase and lease-financing agreements, was read           
the first time.                                                                
                                                                               
Senator Taylor moved and asked unanimous consent that HOUSE                    
CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 36 am be held to the May 7                           
calendar.  Without objection, it was so ordered.
