And so, Amendment No. 1 was not adopted. Amendment No. 2 was not offered. Amendment No. 3 was offered by Representative Davies: Page 3, following line 16: Insert a new bill section to read: "* Sec. 4. AS14.03.080 is amended by adding a new subsection to read: (f) This section does not require a school district to admit a child or person currently under suspension or expulsion under AS14.03.160 in that or another school district." Renumber the following bill sections accordingly. Page 3, following line 30: Insert a new bill section to read: "* Sec. 6. AS14.03 is amended by adding a new section to read: Sec. 14.03.160. SUSPENSION OR EXPULSION OF STUDENTS FOR POSSESSING WEAPONS. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, a school district shall adopt procedures, including the right to a hearing, requiring the suspension for at least 30 days, or expulsion for the school year or permanently, of a student who violates AS11.61.210(a)(7). A prior conviction, or adjudication of delinquency or child in need of supervision, for violation of AS11.61.210(a)(7) is not necessary for a school board to suspend or expel a student under this section." Renumber the following bill section accordingly.
