Long By Representative Willis INTRODUCTION, FIRST READING AND REFERENCE OF HOUSE BILLS HB 298 HOUSE BILL NO. 298 by Representative Hudson, entitled: "An Act relating to procedures for changing the rate of the salmon enhancement tax." was read the first time and referred to the House Special Committee on Fisheries, Resources and Finance Committees. The Speaker stated the House would recess to a call of the Chair and so, the House recessed at 10:46 a.m. AFTER RECESS JOINT SESSION IN THE HOUSE Speaker Barnes called the House to order and in accordance with Uniform Rule 51, turned the gavel over to President Halford, who called the Joint Session to order at 11:11 a.m. The purpose of the Joint Session was to consider the confirmation of the Governor's appointments. The roll call of the Senate showed 19 members present. Senator Jacko was absent. The roll call of the House showed 39 members present. Representative Navarre was absent. Senator Pearce placed a call of the Joint Session. The call was satisfied. President Halford introduced the First Lady of Alaska, Ermalee Hickel.
