01 Recognizing and honoring the 50th anniversary of The Energy Council.

03 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                             
04      WHEREAS The Energy Council is celebrating its 50th anniversary; and                                                
05      WHEREAS the provision of reliable and consistent energy is critical to achieving                                   
06 economic stability and ensuring global security, and a steady supply of oil and gas is                                  
07 instrumental in meeting consumer demands and safeguarding energy independence; and                                      
08      WHEREAS The Energy Council was established in 1975 as a nonpartisan forum for                                      
09 legislators from Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico to engage in                                      
10 dialogue and to collaborate on energy policy that was pertinent to constituents; and                                    
11      WHEREAS The Energy Council has since expanded to include 14 member states and                                      
12 the Canadian provinces of Alberta and Saskatchewan, thereby enriching the discourse on state                            
13 and federal energy and environmental policy; and                                                                        
14      WHEREAS The Energy Council plays a vital role in informing lawmakers about                                         
15 economic trends and emerging technologies in an evolving energy landscape because its                                   
16 members adeptly leverage an understanding of global trends and policies to craft effective                              

01 energy solutions and promote a comprehensive understanding of the interrelationship between                             
02 energy and the environment; and                                                                                         
03      WHEREAS, for five decades, The Energy Council has actively contributed to the                                      
04 discourse surrounding energy generation and policy that shapes the daily lives of Americans,                            
05 and its members are highly deserving of commendation for a steadfast commitment to                                      
06 informed energy policy leadership;                                                                                      
07      BE IT RESOLVED that the Alaska State Legislature is honored to extend its sincere                                  
08 commendations to all individuals associated with The Energy Council and offer genuine                                   
09 congratulations on the organization's 50th anniversary.                                                                 
10      COPIES of this resolution shall be sent to The Energy Council.
