00 SENATE BILL NO. 137 01 "An Act extending the termination date of the Board of Certified Direct-Entry 02 Midwives; extending the termination date of the Board of Nursing; extending the 03 termination date of the Board of Parole; and providing for an effective date." 04 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 05 * Section 1. AS 08.03.010(c)(8) is amended to read: 06 (8) Board of Certified Direct-Entry Midwives (AS 08.65.010) - 07 June 30, 2031 [2025]; 08 * Sec. 2. AS 08.03.010(c)(14) is amended to read: 09 (14) Board of Nursing (AS 08.68.010) - June 30, 2031 [2025]; 10 * Sec. 3. AS 44.66.010(a)(2) is amended to read: 11 (2) Board of Parole (AS 33.16.020) - June 30, 2029 [2025]; 12 * Sec. 4. The uncodified law of the State of Alaska is amended by adding a new section to 13 read: 14 EXEMPTION FROM AS 44.66.050(e). This Act is exempt from the provision of
01 AS 44.66.050(e) that prohibits a bill from continuing or reestablishing more than one board or 02 commission. 03 * Sec. 5. The uncodified law of the State of Alaska is amended by adding a new section to 04 read: 05 RETROACTIVITY. If this Act takes effect after June 30, 2025, this Act is retroactive 06 to June 30, 2025. 07 * Sec. 6. This Act takes effect immediately under AS 01.10.070(c).
