00 HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 6 01 Commemorating the 250th Anniversary of the United States Marine Corps. 02 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 03 WHEREAS November 10, 2025, signifies the 250th anniversary of the establishment 04 of the United States Marine Corps; and 05 WHEREAS the United States Marine Corps has played an integral role in shaping the 06 history of our nation and holds a cherished place in the hearts of Alaskans and all Americans; 07 and 08 WHEREAS the United States Marine Corps exemplifies the principles of honor, 09 courage, and commitment, motivating countless individuals to serve and protect the United 10 States; and 11 WHEREAS the United States Marine Corps has an esteemed legacy of preparedness 12 and dedication, with members serving with distinction in both conflict and peacetime; and 13 WHEREAS the United States Marine Corps has proven its adaptability, evolving to 14 meet emerging threats and safeguarding the nation's security from its inception to the present; 15 and 16 WHEREAS the United States Marine Corps originated at Tun Tavern in Philadelphia

01 on November 10, 1775, marking 250 years of service; and 02 WHEREAS this milestone reflects the United States Marine Corps' exceptional skill, 03 leadership, bravery, and sacrifice in every major United States conflict, from the 04 Revolutionary War to the Global War on Terrorism, including historic battles such as 05 Trenton, Bladensburg, Veracruz, Antietam, Wake Island, Saipan, Inchon, Con Thien, Desert 06 Storm, and Ramadi; 07 BE IT RESOLVED that the Alaska State Legislature celebrates the 250th anniversary 08 of the United States Marine Corps; and be it 09 FURTHER RESOLVED that the Alaska State Legislature honors the memory of the 10 United States Marines and Navy corpsmen who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our 11 nation; and be it 12 FURTHER RESOLVED that the Alaska State Legislature upholds the motto Semper 13 Fidelis, reflecting the enduring loyalty of all United States Marines, past and present; and be it 14 FURTHER RESOLVED that the Alaska State Legislature pays tribute to the men 15 and women currently serving in the United States Marine Corps who carry forward the proud 16 legacy of the United States Marine Corps; and be it 17 FURTHER RESOLVED that the Alaska State Legislature seeks to strengthen the 18 ties of camaraderie and shared values between the United States Marine Corps and allied 19 forces; and be it 20 FURTHER RESOLVED that the Alaska State Legislature marks with pride the 250 21 years since the founding of the United States Marine Corps; and be it 22 FURTHER RESOLVED that the Alaska State Legislature calls on Alaskans and all 23 Americans to participate in commemorative activities, share stories of United States Marine 24 Corps heroism, and honor those who have earned the title of United States Marine over the 25 past 250 years; and be it 26 FURTHER RESOLVED that the Alaska State Legislature urges communities in the 27 state to recognize the contributions of local United States Marines and collaborate with the 28 United States Marine Corps to foster civic pride and mutual support.
