00               SENATE SPECIAL CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 7                                                               
01 Disapproving Executive Order No. 130.                                                                                   
02 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                               
03 WHEREAS the governor, under authority of art. III, sec. 23, Constitution of the State                                 
04 of Alaska, has proposed in Executive Order No. 130 to transfer the functions relating to the                            
05 certification and regulation of the practice of midwifery from the Board of Certified Direct-                           
06 Entry Midwives to the Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development                                       
07 and to eliminate the Board of Certified Direct-Entry Midwives; and                                                      
08       WHEREAS art. III, sec. 23, Constitution of the State of Alaska, provides that unless                            
09 disapproved within 60 days of a regular session by resolution concurred in by a majority of                             
10 the members of the legislature in joint session, an executive order becomes effective at a date                         
11 designated by the governor;                                                                                             
12       BE IT RESOLVED by the Alaska State Legislature that Executive Order No. 130 is                                  
13 disapproved.
