00 CS FOR SENATE BILL NO. 123(L&C) 01 "An Act relating to commercial motor vehicle drivers' license requirements; and 02 providing for an effective date." 03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 04 * Section 1. AS 28.33.100(a) is amended to read: 05 (a) A person may not drive a commercial motor vehicle until the person 06 applies for and is issued a license for that purpose under AS 28.15.041. The 07 department may not issue a license to drive a commercial motor vehicle unless the 08 applicant 09 (1) is at least 18 years of age, to operate in intrastate commerce, or at 10 least 21 years of age, to operate in interstate commerce, except as provided in (f) of 11 this section; 12 (2) [HAS HELD A VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE AT LEAST ONE 13 YEAR BEFORE THE DATE OF APPLICATION OR MEETS THE EXPERIENCE 14 QUALIFICATIONS ESTABLISHED BY THE DEPARTMENT;

01 (3)] has successfully completed all required driving tests and written 02 and physical examinations; 03 (3) [(4)] either does not have a driver's license issued by another 04 jurisdiction or surrenders all driver's licenses issued by other jurisdictions; and 05 (4) [(5)] is domiciled in this state. 06 * Sec. 2. This Act takes effect immediately under AS 01.10.070(c).
