00                   HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 6                                                                    
01 Encouraging public celebrations to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the                                             
02 Declaration of Independence and the founding of the United States of America.                                           
03 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                               
04       WHEREAS July 4, 2026, will mark the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of                                     
05 Independence and the founding of the United States of America; and                                                      
06       WHEREAS the United States Congress has enacted the United States                                                
07 Semiquincentennial Commission under P.L. 114-196; and                                                                   
08       WHEREAS the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence and the                                        
09 founding of the United States of America is worthy of celebration at both the federal and state                         
10 levels; and                                                                                                             
11       WHEREAS a coordinated effort at the state level is necessary to properly plan and                               
12 carry out these celebrations in the state;                                                                              
13 BE IT RESOLVED that the Alaska State Legislature encourages state agencies and                                        
14 other organizations to implement public celebrations and commemorations of the 250th                                    
15 anniversary of the Declaration of Independence and the founding of the United States of                                 
16 America.
