00 HOUSE BILL NO. 318 01 "An Act relating to disclosure of information by nonprofit corporations." 02 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 03 * Section 1. The uncodified law of the State of Alaska is amended by adding a new section 04 to read: 05 SHORT TITLE. This Act may be known as the Charity Protection Act. 06 * Sec. 2. AS 10.20.151(b) is amended to read: 07 (b) It is not necessary to set out in the articles of incorporation any of the 08 corporate powers enumerated in this chapter or any protected information. In this 09 subsection, "protected information" has the meaning given in AS 10.20.625(b). 10 * Sec. 3. AS 10.20.251 is amended by adding a new subsection to read: 11 (b) It is not necessary to set out in the articles of merger or consolidation any 12 protected information. In this subsection, "protected information" has the meaning 13 given in AS 10.20.625(b). 14 * Sec. 4. AS 10.20.625 is amended by adding a new subsection to read: 15 (b) The commissioner may not require a domestic corporation or foreign
01 corporation to disclose protected information in the biennial report or any other 02 document. In this subsection, "protected information" includes a list, record, register, 03 registry, roll, roster, or other compilation of data that directly or indirectly identifies a 04 person as a donor of financial or nonfinancial support to a nonprofit organization.
