01 "An Act establishing Alaska Veterans' Poppy Day; and providing for an effective date."                                  
02 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
03    * Section 1. AS 44.12 is amended by adding a new section to article 2 to read:                                     
04 Sec. 44.12.190. Alaska Veterans' Poppy Day. Alaska Veterans' Poppy Day is                                             
05 established on the Friday immediately preceding Memorial Day each year to thank                                         
06 past and current members of the armed forces and honor the individuals who died to                                      
07       preserve freedom.                                                                                                 
08    * Sec. 2. This Act takes effect immediately under AS 01.10.070(c).
