01 "An Act establishing June 9 of each year as Don Young Day."                                                             
02 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
03    * Section 1. AS 44.12 is amended by adding a new section to article 2 to read:                                     
04 Sec. 44.12.185. Don Young Day. Don Young Day is established on June 9 of                                              
05 each year to honor Don Young, whose long record of public service includes 49 years                                     
06 as the United States House of Representatives member from Alaska, for his service to                                    
07 the state and the nation. Don Young Day may be observed by suitable observances and                                     
08       exercises by civil groups and the public.
