01 "An Act relating to designation of state water as outstanding national resource water;                                  
02 and providing for an effective date."                                                                                   
03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
04    * Section 1. AS 46.03 is amended by adding a new section to read:                                                  
05            Sec. 46.03.085. Outstanding national resource water. (a) Water of the state                                
06       may be designated as outstanding national resource water, as described in federal                                 
07       regulation, only by statute.                                                                                      
08            (b)  Water of the state may not be managed as outstanding national resource                                  
09       water unless the water has been designated as outstanding national resource water by                              
10       statute.                                                                                                          
11    * Sec. 2. This Act takes effect immediately under AS 01.10.070(c).
