01 "An Act exempting controlled substances prescribed or dispensed by a veterinarian to                                    
02 treat an animal from the requirements of the controlled substance prescription                                          
03 database."                                                                                                              
04 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
05    * Section 1. AS 17.30.200(o) is amended to read:                                                                   
06 (o)  The board shall promptly notify the State Medical Board, the Board of                                              
07 Nursing, the Board of Dental Examiners, and the Board of Examiners in Optometry [,                                  
08 AND THE BOARD OF VETERINARY EXAMINERS] when a practitioner registers                                                    
09       with the database under (n) of this section.                                                                      
10    * Sec. 2. AS 17.30.200 is amended by adding a new subsection to read:                                              
11            (v)  This section does not apply to a schedule II, III, or IV controlled substance                           
12       prescribed or dispensed by a veterinarian licensed under AS 08.98 to treat an animal.                             
13    * Sec. 3. AS 08.98.050(a)(10) is repealed.
