01 "An Act requiring the Department of Public Safety to publish certain policies and                                       
02 procedures on the department's Internet website."                                                                       
03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
04    * Section 1. AS 44.41.020 is amended by adding new subsections to read:                                            
05            (h)  The Department of Public Safety shall publish on the department's Internet                              
06       website the department's current policies and procedures related to the conduct of                                
07       peace officers employed by the department and village public safety officers.                                     
08            (i)  The Department of Public Safety is not required to publish policies and                                 
09       procedures under (h) of this section if publishing the policies and procedures                                    
10                 (1)  would disclose confidential techniques and procedures for law                                      
11       enforcement investigations or prosecutions;                                                                       
12                 (2)  would disclose guidelines for law enforcement investigations or                                    
13       prosecutions and the disclosure could reasonably be expected to risk circumvention of                             
14       the law; or                                                                                                       

01                 (3)  could reasonably be expected to endanger the life or physical safety                               
02       of an individual.
