01 "An Act relating to the voluntary relinquishment of parental rights."                                                   
02 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
03    * Section 1. AS 47.10.089 is amended by adding a new subsection to read:                                           
04 (k)  Notwithstanding the other provisions of this section, the parental rights of                                       
05 one parent may not be voluntarily relinquished under this section if a parent who                                       
06 maintains custody of the child under AS 47.10.080(c)(2) will suffer an undue financial                                  
07       burden because of the relinquishment of the other parent's parental rights.
