00 HOUSE BILL NO. 296 01 "An Act relating to program receipts; and relating to the acceptance of gifts, donations, 02 and grants for the purpose of providing signage for assets under the control of the 03 Department of Transportation and Public Facilities." 04 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 05 * Section 1. AS 37.05.146(c) is amended by adding a new paragraph to read: 06 (80) gifts, donations, and grants received by the Department of 07 Transportation and Public Facilities under AS 44.42.060. 08 * Sec. 2. AS 44.42.060 is amended by adding new subsections to read: 09 (b) The department may accept gifts, donations, and grants from a person or 10 agency for the purpose of providing signage for an asset under the control of the 11 department. All gifts, donations, and grants shall be used in accordance with a 12 memorandum of understanding agreed on by the donor and the department. Any 13 signage created under this subsection is subject to the necessary funds being collected 14 from the donor. State funds may not be expended for signage under this subsection
01 until the necessary funds have been collected from the donor. 02 (c) Nothing in this section prevents the state from using state funds to provide 03 signage for an asset under the control of the department.
