01 "An Act relating to radiofrequency radiation exposure in schools."                                                      
02 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
03    * Section 1.  The uncodified law of the State of Alaska is amended by adding a new section                         
04 to read:                                                                                                                
05 REPORT ON RADIOFREQUENCY RADIATION EXPOSURE IN SCHOOLS. (a)                                                             
06 On or before January 2, 2022, the Department of Health and Social Services shall prepare and                            
07 submit to the Department of Education and Early Development and the legislative committees                              
08 having jurisdiction over education a report regarding the health effects of exposure to                                 
09 radiofrequency radiation in schools.                                                                                    
10 (b)  In preparing the report, the Department of Health and Social Services shall, at a                                  
11 minimum, review peer-reviewed, independently funded scientific studies that examine the                                 
12 health effects on children ages three through 17 from exposure to radiofrequency radiation in                           
13 schools, including exposure resulting from the use of wireless network technologies in                                  
14 schools or similar environments.                                                                                        
15       (c)  Before the beginning of the school year following the receipt of the report                                  

01 described in (a) of this section, the Department of Education and Early Development shall                               
02 develop recommendations based on the findings of the report to advise schools in the state on                           
03 best practices and alternative technologies that would reduce student exposure to potentially                           
04 harmful radiofrequency radiation.
