01 "An Act relating to certificates of fitness for plumbers and electricians."                                             
02 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
03    * Section 1. AS 18.62.050 is amended by adding a new subsection to read:                                           
04 (d)  The department may not issue a trainee level certificate of fitness under (a)                                      
05 of this section unless the applicant is indentured in an apprenticeship program                                         
06 registered with the United States Department of Labor, Office of Apprenticeship, or a                                   
07 state apprenticeship agency recognized by the United States Department of Labor,                                        
08       Office of Apprenticeship.                                                                                         
09    * Sec. 2. The uncodified law of the State of Alaska is amended by adding a new section to                          
10 read:                                                                                                                   
11       APPLICABILITY. This Act applies to applications for a trainee level certificate of                                
12 fitness submitted on or after the effective date of this Act.
