00 HOUSE BILL NO. 259 01 "An Act directing the commissioner of revenue to pay dividends to certain eligible 02 individuals; and providing for an effective date." 03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 04 * Section 1. The uncodified law of the State of Alaska is amended by adding a new section 05 to read: 06 PERMANENT FUND DIVIDENDS. (a) Notwithstanding AS 43.23.005, when 07 determining permanent fund dividend payments under AS 43.23.025 in 2020, the 08 commissioner of revenue shall include a payment of $1,304 in 2020 in the permanent fund 09 dividend to each eligible individual as provided in (b) of this section. 10 (b) An individual is eligible for a permanent fund dividend payment under (a) of this 11 section in calendar year 2020 if the individual 12 (1) received a 2019 permanent fund dividend; and 13 (2) is eligible for a 2020 permanent fund dividend. 14 (c) The amount appropriated from the earnings reserve account (AS 37.13.145) to the
01 dividend fund (AS 43.23.045(a)) for payment under (a) of this section to eligible individuals 02 during calendar year 2020 may not contribute to the calculation for the 2020 dividend under 03 AS 43.23.025. 04 * Sec. 2. This Act takes effect immediately under AS 01.10.070(c).
