00 CS FOR HOUSE BILL NO. 235(FIN) 01 "An Act relating to allocations of funding for the Alaska Workforce Investment Board; 02 and providing for an effective date." 03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 04 * Section 1. The uncodified law of the State of Alaska is amended by adding a new section 05 to read: 06 LEGISLATIVE INTENT. It is the intent of the legislature that the University of 07 Alaska spend from the money allocated to the University of Alaska under AS 23.15.835(d) 08 the amount necessary to sustainably maintain programs consistent with AS 16.52.020 and 09 AS 23.15.820 - 23.15.850 through the Kodiak Seafood and Marine Science Center. When 10 expending funds as intended by this section, it is the intent of the legislature that the 11 University of Alaska consult with the Fishery Industrial Technology Policy Council 12 established under AS 16.52.030 for programming and planning guidance. 13 * Sec. 2. AS 23.15.835(d) is amended to read: 14 (d) Notwithstanding AS 23.15.840(a), for the fiscal years ending June 30,
01 2015, through June 30, 2023 [2020], the money collected under this section or 02 otherwise appropriated to the Alaska Workforce Investment Board shall be allocated 03 directly in the following percentages to the following institutions for programs 04 consistent with AS 23.15.820 - 23.15.850 and capital improvements: 05 University of Alaska 45 percent 06 Galena Interior Learning Academy 4 percent 07 Alaska Technical Center 9 percent 08 Alaska Vocational Technical Center 17 percent 09 Northwestern Alaska Career and Technical Center 3 percent 10 Southwest Alaska Vocational and Education Center 3 percent 11 Yuut Elitnaurviat, Inc. People's Learning Center 9 percent 12 Partners for Progress in Delta, Inc. 3 percent 13 Amundsen Educational Center 2 percent 14 Ilisagvik College 5 percent. 15 * Sec. 3. The uncodified law of the State of Alaska is amended by adding a new section to 16 read: 17 RETROACTIVITY. If this Act takes effect after June 30, 2020, this Act is retroactive 18 to June 30, 2020. 19 * Sec. 4. This Act takes effect immediately under AS 01.10.070(c).
