01 "An Act relating to the display of documents on an electronic device."                                                  
02 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
03    * Section 1. AS 12.37 is amended by adding a new section to article 3 to read:                                     
04 Sec. 12.37.305. Search of an electronic device. Displaying proof of a required                                        
05 document on a mobile electronic device does not constitute consent for a peace officer                                  
06 to access other contents of the electronic device. In this section, "required document"                                 
07 means a license, permit, or insurance card required by law that may be displayed                                        
08       electronically.
