01 "An Act relating to the termination of a board or commission."                                                          
02 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
03    * Section 1. AS 08.03.020(a) is amended to read:                                                                   
04 (a)  Upon termination, each board listed in AS 08.03.010 shall continue in                                              
05 existence until June 30 of the next succeeding year for the purpose of concluding its                                   
06 affairs. During this period, termination does not reduce or otherwise limit the powers                                  
07 or authority of each board. One year after the date of termination, a board not                                         
08 continued shall cease all activities [, AND THE STATUTORY AUTHORITY OF                                                  
09       THE BOARD IS TRANSFERRED TO THE DEPARTMENT].                                                                      
10    * Sec. 2. AS 08.03.020(d) is amended to read:                                                                      
11 (d)  The department may not [SHALL] carry out the functions of a board that                                         
12 has ceased all activities under (a) of this section. [LITIGATION, HEARINGS,                                             
13 INVESTIGATIONS, AND OTHER PROCEEDINGS PENDING AT THE TIME                                                               
14 THE BOARD CEASED ACTIVITIES CONTINUE IN EFFECT AND MAY BE                                                               
15 CONTINUED OR COMPLETED BY THE DEPARTMENT.] Licenses and [,]                                                         

01 certificates [, ORDERS, AND REGULATIONS] issued [OR ADOPTED] by the                                                     
02 board and in effect at the time the board ceased activities remain in effect for the term                               
03 issued [OR UNTIL REVOKED, AMENDED, VACATED, OR REPEALED BY THE                                                          
04       DEPARTMENT].
