01 "An Act relating to the procedure for legislative confirmation of board or commission                                   
02 appointments."                                                                                                          
03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
04    * Section 1. AS 39.05.080 is amended by adding a new paragraph to read:                                            
05 (5)  If, during a joint session of the legislature, new information                                                     
06 regarding an appointment not previously considered by a standing or joint committee                                     
07 is presented, the appointment may be returned to a standing or joint committee for                                      
08 further discussion, testimony, debate, and consideration. The legislature shall, before                                 
09 the end of the regular session, assemble another joint session to confirm or decline to                                 
10       confirm the appointment.
