01 "An Act establishing October 1 as Choose Respect Day."                                                                  
02 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
03    * Section 1. AS 44.12 is amended by adding a new section to read:                                                  
04 Sec. 44.12.157. Choose Respect Day. Choose Respect Day is established on                                              
05 October 1 of each year to promote awareness and prevention of domestic violence,                                        
06 sexual assault, and child sexual abuse in the state. Choose Respect Day may be                                          
07       observed by suitable observances and exercises by civic groups and the public.
