AS 17.20.085 is amended by adding new subsections to read: 06 (d) The chief medical officer of the department may issue a standing order, 07 including a statewide standing order, for the prescription of an opioid overdose drug. 08 A standing order issued under this subsection must expire on or before June 30, 2021. 09 (e) Annually, on or before October 1, the department shall complete a report 10 describing activities and expenditures related to Substance Abuse and Mental Health 11 Services Administration grants and the opioid epidemic and shall submit the report to 12 the senate secretary and chief clerk of the house of representatives and notify the 13 legislature that the report is available. 14 * Sec. 2. AS 17.20.085(d) is repealed June 30, 2021.

01 * Sec. 3. The uncodified law of the State of Alaska is amended by adding a new section to 02 read: 03 RETROACTIVITY. This Act is retroactive to March 15, 2017. 04 * Sec. 4. This Act takes effect immediately under AS 01.10.070(c).
