01 "An Act relating to the collection of fees by the Department of Public Safety for fire and                              
02 explosion prevention and safety services."                                                                              
03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
04    * Section 1. AS 18.70.080(b) is amended to read:                                                                   
05 (b)  Subject to AS 37.10.050, the [THE] commissioner of public safety may                                           
06 establish by regulation, and the department may charge, reasonable fees for fire and                            
07 life safety plan checks, fire inspections, fire extinguisher permitting, and fire                                   
08 system permitting, performed [MADE] to determine compliance with regulations                                        
09       adopted under (a) [(a)(2)] of this section.                                                                   
10    * Sec. 2. AS 37.05.146(c)(38) is amended to read:                                                                  
11                 (38)  fees collected by [RECEIPTS OF] the Department of Public                                      
12       Safety [FROM FEES FOR FIRE AND LIFE SAFETY PLAN CHECKS] under                                                     
13       AS 18.70.080(b);
