01 "An Act relating to the powers of the Department of Transportation and Public                                           
02 Facilities; and relating to aircraft registration."                                                                     
03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
04    * Section 1. AS 02.10 is amended by adding a new section to read:                                                  
05            Sec. 02.10.021. Registration of aircraft.  Under this title, the department may                            
06       not                                                                                                               
07                 (1)  levy or collect a tax or fee on an owner or operator of an aircraft for                            
08       registration of the aircraft with the department;                                                                 
09                 (2)  impose a penalty on or sanction an owner or operator of an aircraft                                
10       for failure to register an aircraft with the department.
