00 SENATE BILL NO. 41 01 "An Act relating to criminal history record checks for psychologists and psychological 02 associates; and providing for an effective date." 03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 04 * Section 1. AS 08.86.070 is amended by adding new subsections to read: 05 (b) The board shall require applicants for a license under this chapter to 06 submit to the department the applicant's fingerprints and the fees required by the 07 Department of Public Safety under AS 12.62.160 for criminal justice information and 08 a national criminal history record check. The board may, by regulation, require an 09 applicant for renewal of a license to submit fingerprints and pay the fees as required 10 by this subsection. 11 (c) The department shall submit the fingerprints and fees to the Department of 12 Public Safety to obtain a report of criminal justice information under AS 12.62 and a 13 national criminal history record check under AS 12.62.400. 14 * Sec. 2. AS 12.62.400(a) is amended by adding a new paragraph to read:

01 (18) licensure as a psychologist or psychological associate under 02 AS 08.86. 03 * Sec. 3. The uncodified law of the State of Alaska is amended by adding a new section to 04 read: 05 APPLICABILITY. Section 1 of this Act applies to applications for a license or 06 renewal of a license as a psychologist or psychological associate under AS 08.86 filed on or 07 after the effective date of this Act. 08 * Sec. 4. This Act takes effect July 1, 2015.
