00 HOUSE BILL NO. 265 01 "An Act relating to terminating the Alaska technical and vocational education program; 02 increasing contributions to the Department of Labor and Workforce Development for 03 the State Training and Employment Program; and providing for an effective date." 04 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 05 * Section 1. AS 23.15.630(a) is amended to read: 06 (a) In the manner provided in AS 23.20, the department shall collect from 07 each employee an amount equal to .26 [ONE-TENTH OF ONE] percent of the wages, 08 as set out in AS 23.20.175, on which the employee is required to make contributions 09 under AS 23.20.290(d). The department shall remit to the Department of Revenue, in 10 accordance with AS 37.10.050, money collected under this subsection. 11 * Sec. 2. AS 23.15.820, 23.15.830, 23.15.835, 23.15.840, and 23.15.850 are repealed. 12 * Sec. 3. The uncodified law of the State of Alaska is amended by adding a new section to 13 read: 14 APPLICABILITY. AS 23.15.630(a), as amended by sec. 1 of this Act, and sec. 2 of

01 this Act apply to contracts entered into on or after the effective date of this Act. 02 * Sec. 4. The uncodified law of the State of Alaska is amended by adding a new section to 03 read: 04 TRANSITION. The unencumbered balance of the Alaska technical and vocational 05 education program account under AS 23.15.830, repealed by sec. 2 of this Act, shall be 06 deposited into the general fund. This Act does not affect already encumbered funds in the 07 account. 08 * Sec. 5. This Act takes effect July 1, 2016.
