00 HOUSE BILL NO. 262 01 "An Act relating to eligibility requirements of the Alaska senior benefits payment 02 program; and providing for an effective date." 03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 04 * Section 1. AS 47.45.302(a) is amended to read: 05 (a) An individual is eligible for a cash assistance benefit under the program if 06 the individual 07 (1) is 65 years of age or older; 08 (2) is a resident of the state; 09 (3) is a citizen of the United States or a qualified alien under 8 10 U.S.C 1641; 11 (4) [(3)] has a household income that does not exceed 175 percent of 12 the annual federal poverty line for Alaska, as determined by the United States 13 Department of Health and Human Services and revised under 42 U.S.C. 9902(2); 14 (5) [(4)] has not received a longevity bonus payment under

01 AS 47.45.010 - 47.45.160 for the same period; and 02 (6) [(5)] applies in the format prescribed [ON A FORM 03 PROVIDED] by the department; the department may use an abbreviated form for an 04 individual who received a payment under an assistance program for seniors that paid 05 $120 a month and was administered by the department on or before July 29, 2007. 06 * Sec. 2. This Act takes effect July 1, 2016.
