01 "An Act establishing the second Sunday of June each year as Children's Day; and                                         
02 providing for an effective date."                                                                                       
03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
04    * Section 1. AS 44.12 is amended by adding a new section to read:                                                  
05            Sec. 44.12.108. Children's Day. Children's Day is established on the second                                
06       Sunday of June of each year to honor Alaska children and to promote their value and                               
07       well-being in our communities. Children's Day may be observed by suitable                                         
08       observances and activities by civic groups and the public.                                                        
09    * Sec. 2. This Act takes effect immediately under AS 01.10.070(c).
