00 HOUSE BILL NO. 166 01 "An Act relating to drivers' licenses from foreign countries; and providing for an 02 effective date." 03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 04 * Section 1. AS 28.15.081 is amended by adding a new subsection to read: 05 (e) The department may waive the examinations required under (a) of this 06 section for a person who holds a noncommercial driver's license issued by a foreign 07 jurisdiction if the department determines the foreign jurisdiction has driver's license 08 examination requirements that are adequate to ensure the qualifications of the driver. 09 * Sec. 2. This Act takes effect immediately under AS 01.10.070(c).
