01 "An Act establishing Alaska Law Enforcement Officers' Day."                                                             
02 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
03    * Section 1. AS 44.12 is amended by adding a new section to article 2 to read:                                     
04            Sec. 44.12.140. Alaska Law Enforcement Officers' Day. Alaska Law                                           
05       Enforcement Officers' Day is established on the Sunday preceding May 15 each year                                 
06       to honor law enforcement officers and peace officers. If May 15 falls on a Sunday,                                
07       then Alaska Law Enforcement Officers' Day is on May 15. Alaska Law Enforcement                                    
08       Officers' Day may be observed by suitable observances and exercises by civic groups                               
09       and the public.
