01 "An Act extending the termination date of the Board of Certified Direct-Entry                                           
02 Midwives; requiring an interim report regarding the board's audit compliance and                                        
03 budget deficit; and providing for an effective date."                                                                   
04 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
05    * Section 1. AS 08.03.010(c)(8) is amended to read:                                                                
06                 (8)  Board of Certified Direct-Entry Midwives (AS 08.65.010) -                                          
07       June 30, 2017 [2015];                                                                                         
08    * Sec. 2. The uncodified law of the State of Alaska is amended by adding a new section to                          
09 read:                                                                                                                   
10       AUDIT COMPLIANCE AND BUDGET DEFICIT: LEGISLATIVE AUDIT                                                            
11 DIVISION REPORT. Within one year after the effective date of this Act, the legislative audit                            
12 division shall submit an interim report to the legislature concerning compliance by the Board                           
13 of Certified Direct-Entry Midwives with the recommendations of the June 30, 2014, audit of                              
14 the board conducted under AS 44.66 and the status of the board's deficit.                                               

01    * Sec. 3. This Act takes effect immediately under AS 01.10.070(c).
