01 "An Act establishing a maximum caseload for probation and parole officers."                                             
02 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
03    * Section 1. AS 33.05.040 is amended by adding a new subsection to read:                                           
04            (b)  The caseload of a probation officer supervising probationers or the                                     
05       combined caseload of a probation officer or parole officer supervising probationers                               
06       and persons on parole as provided for in (a)(5) of this section may not exceed 60                                 
07       persons, except in temporary or extraordinary circumstances approved by the                                       
08       commissioner.
