01 "An Act relating to the appointment of municipal election boards."                                                      
02 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
03    * Section 1. AS 15.10.120(f) is amended to read:                                                                   
04            (f)  For a municipal election in which voters cast ballots at polling places                             
05       in their precincts, election [ELECTION] boards [FOR MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS]                                      
06       shall be appointed by the appropriate municipality.                                                               
07    * Sec. 2. AS 29.26.010 is amended to read:                                                                         
08            Sec. 29.26.010. Administration. (a) The governing body shall prescribe the                               
09       rules for conducting an election.                                                                             
10            (b)  For an election in which voters cast ballots at polling places in their                             
11       precincts, the governing body [AND] shall appoint an election board composed of at                            
12       least three judges for each precinct. If the governing body appoints an election                              
13       board, a [A] judge shall be a voter of the precinct for which appointed unless no voter                       
14       is willing to serve.
