00 HOUSE BILL NO. 125 01 "An Act prohibiting a health care insurer from denying coverage for an additional 02 limited quantity of prescription topical eye medication under certain circumstances." 03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 04 * Section 1. AS 21.42 is amended by adding a new section to read: 05 Sec. 21.42.425. Coverage for prescription topical eye medication. A health 06 care insurer that offers, issues for delivery, delivers, or renews a health care insurance 07 plan in the group or individual market in the state that provides coverage for 08 prescription topical eye medication shall allow for the limited refilling of a topical eye 09 medication prescription before the last day of the prescribed dosage period without 10 regard to a coverage restriction for early refill of prescription renewals. A refill 11 dispensed before the expiration of the prescribed and approved coverage period shall 12 be limited in quantity, to the extent practicable, to the amount of the remaining dosage 13 initially approved for coverage. 14 * Sec. 2. The uncodified law of the State of Alaska is amended by adding a new section to
