01 "An Act adjusting pupil transportation funding; and providing for an effective date."                                   
02 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
03    * Section 1. The uncodified law of the State of Alaska is amended by adding a new section                          
04 to read:                                                                                                                
05       STUDENT TRANSPORTATION FUNDING ADJUSTMENT. For fiscal years 2014                                                  
06 and 2015, the per student amount available to a school district under AS 14.09.010(a) shall be                          
07 adjusted annually on October 1 according to changes in the Consumer Price Index for all                                 
08 urban consumers for the Anchorage metropolitan area compiled by the United States                                       
09 Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics. The reference base index for an adjustment                             
10 made under this section is the Consumer Price Index for all urban consumers for the                                     
11 Anchorage metropolitan area compiled by the United States Department of Labor, Bureau of                                
12 Labor Statistics, for the years 1982 through 1984.                                                                      
13    * Sec. 2. Section 9, ch. 19, SLA 2012, is repealed.                                                                
14    * Sec. 3. Section 1 of this Act is repealed November 1, 2015.                                                      
15    * Sec. 4. This Act takes effect July 1, 2013.
